The “Bauhaus in Bayern” VR Experience offers the opportunity to experience Gropius’ last iconic buildings in the Bavarian cities Selb and Amberg. It gives you visual insights into the creative formation process as well as the special relationship between Walter Gropius and Philip Rosenthal, the man behind the famous Rosenthal porcelains. Together they aspired to design new factory buildings that focus on the people, rather than only the design. The story is based on the memories of Alex Cvijanovic, one of Gropius’ collaborators. The VR Experience shows video sequences that were shot in Selb, Amberg and Boston as well as animated photos and sketches that were retrieved from the archives of Harvard, Rosenthal and various private collections.
